Rider Gear:
- REQUIRED. YOU CAN'T GO WITHOUT
THESE ITEMS
- helmet (seriously, you must have one of these, so please do not forget it)
- Id/Drivers License (needed to get through Camp Pendleton. Without it you do not get on the base, and we will have to drive you to the other side of Pendleton. This will impact our ability to support the other riders)
- cell phone
with phone numbers of the SAG drivers and group leaders. These will be provided prior to starting Sunday morning
- bike (please road bikes only...100 miles is a LONG way to take a mountain bike. I've seen people finish a century on one, but I sure wouldn't want to do it)
- make sure bike is in good repair before the ride (shifts well, wheels are true (means the brakes don't rub when you spin the wheels), comfortable to ride for 20+ miles
- bike shoes
- padded shorts
- water - two water bottles are recommended! It's a long way, and it can get hot out there, running out of hydration is never fun
- GU (lots)
- Bike lock to secure your bike on the train. We'll carry these on the SAG vehicles.
- HIGHLY RECOMMENDED ITEMS TO CARRY
- extra tubes (2)
- CO2 cylinders or bike pump
- tire tools/bike multitool
- sun screen
- sunglasses (very important)
- gloves
- ointment or salve (chamois butter)
- $/credit card
- Ibuprofen
- first aid
- Although the SAG vehicles will have some of these items, they may not be conveniently located when you need one of them, so please plan appropriately

- Bananas
- Granola
- Gatorade (Kirkland Brand)
- Peanut Butter and Turkey sandwiches for Lunch (@ Botanical Garden stop)
- Mechanical Supplies
- Bike pumps
- Extra 700C tubes
- Extra 700C tires
- First aid kit
- Chamois butter (for those that forgot, and figure it out at mile 60. ouch. that's gonna hurt)
- Extra CO2 cylinders
- Sunscreen
- maybe an extra front and rear wheel (Shimano 10-speed)
- Stuff you want us to carry
- Clothes and / or snacks for the ride home (we don't promise not to snarf all your snacks on the drive down) (kidding) (not really)
- Clothes you took off on the ride
- Special food and/or drink you want on the ride
